Course Objectives and Skills Acquired
Semester I
- Plan and execute jobs as per specifications using basic fitting operations such as marking, sawing, chiseling, filing, drilling, tapping, and grinding.
- Perform repair and maintenance of different machines like Drill Machines, Power Saws, and Bench Grinders.
- Prepare various cutting tools for turning operations with high accuracy.
- Set machining parameters for milling operations such as plain, face, angular, form, gang, and straddle milling.
Semester II
- Produce high-accuracy components using surface and cylindrical grinding (accuracy up to ± 0.01 mm).
- Set components and machine parameters for producing taper/ angular components and ensure proper assembly.
- Produce screw and multi-start threaded components while maintaining precise machining parameters.
- Measure components using limit gauges, sine bars, and toolmakers' gauges to ensure machine tool accuracy.
Semester III
- Set up CNC turning centers, prepare part programs, and manufacture components as per technical drawings.
Semester IV
- Operate CNC machining centers, prepare part programs, and produce complex components with precision.
- Perform repair and maintenance of Drilling Machines, Milling Machines, and Lathes.
- Complete revision, project work, and final examinations.
